Doors that slam, drag or won't latch
The symptoms are familiar: the door that slams hard enough to rattle the glass, the one that creeps closed so slowly customers pull it again, the latch you have to lift the door to catch, the scrape along the threshold. Every one of those is a hardware problem, and most are repairs, not replacements.
A slamming door usually needs the closer's valves adjusted — a quick fix when you know the closer. A dragging or misaligned door points to worn pivots, tired hinges or a building that has shifted; we re-hang, shim or replace the hardware so the door swings true and the latch meets the strike again.

Most commercial doors in Vancouver are aluminum storefront doors, and we carry the common parts for them — which is why most repairs finish in one visit. It's the same crew that does our storefront glass, so glass and hardware problems get sorted together.
Panic hardware has to work every time
Exit devices aren't just hardware — they're life-safety equipment. A panic bar that's sticky, misaligned or dogged open when it shouldn't be is a problem on inspection day and a serious problem in an emergency. We repair and replace panic hardware, re-align vertical rods, and make sure the door latches positively every single time it closes.
If your exit door doesn't latch on its own from any position, treat it as urgent — your staff and your insurance both assume it does.

Frequently asked questions
My door slams — do I need a new closer?
Usually not. Most slams are adjustment: closers have valves for sweep and latch speed, and a proper adjustment takes minutes. If the closer is leaking oil or won't hold its adjustment, then it's time to replace it — we'll tell you which one you're looking at.
Can you rekey or replace our locks?
Yes. We rekey mortise cylinders and replace locks and deadbolts on commercial doors — common after staff changes or a lost key. If you're rekeying several doors, we can key them alike so one key runs the building.
Do you work on wood and steel doors too?
Yes. Aluminum storefront doors are the most common commercial call, but we service hinges, closers, locks and panic hardware on wood and hollow-metal doors as well.
Why did my door start dragging out of nowhere?
Usually wear or movement: pivots and hinges wear down, buildings settle, weatherstripping compresses. In our wet climate, wood doors also swell seasonally. The fix is re-alignment or new hardware — it rarely means a new door.
