Clerestories, Sunrooms and Shapes That Aren’t Rectangles
A lot of what we cut never came from a catalogue. Long runs of clerestory glass along an enclosed sunroom, round and arched windows, angled panels in a gable end, notched panes around a post — these are template jobs, measured on site and cut to that template alone.
Sunrooms and enclosed patios are their own category. They're often glazed with older single-pane stock in slim frames, they take direct weather on three sides, and one broken panel in a run of twelve is a common call. We can replace a single panel to match, or upgrade the whole run where the frames allow it.

Custom glass questions
Can you cut a mirror to an unusual shape?
Yes — arches, circles, notched corners and angled edges are all standard work. We template the space on site rather than working from a sketch, because a wall that looks square rarely is. Edges can be finished flat-polished, pencil-polished or bevelled.
How thick should a wall mirror be?
For anything sizeable, 6mm. Thinner mirror flexes when mounted and produces that funhouse ripple you see in cheap installs. Bathroom mirrors should also have a moisture-resistant backing, or the silvering will start to creep in from the edges within a few years.
How are large mirrors actually fixed to the wall?
It depends on the wall and the weight. J-channel and clips are the usual method, and for heavy pieces we use a combination of mechanical fixing and mirror-safe adhesive. Ordinary construction adhesive attacks the silvering from behind — a common cause of black edges on mirrors that were installed by someone in a hurry.
Can you replace one broken panel in a sunroom or window wall?
Usually, yes. We measure the individual opening and match the glass type and thickness so the new panel doesn't stand out from the ones beside it. Where the original glass is discontinued we'll tell you what the closest match looks like before ordering.
Do you do glass shelves, table tops and cabinet glass?
All of it. Shelves and table tops are cut to size and polished, and table tops are tempered as standard for safety. Cabinet and display glass can be clear, frosted, patterned or low-iron, which is worth considering where colour accuracy matters.
What's low-iron glass and do I need it?
Standard glass has a faint green cast from its iron content, which you notice most on thick panels and on white or pale surfaces behind them. Low-iron glass removes it and reads genuinely clear. It costs more, and it's worth it for shelving, display cabinets and light-coloured backsplashes.
